Welcome to our first year of alternative provision!

Stevenage Education Support Centre will offer a Vocational Programme of alternative provision for Key Stage 4 students in Stevenage Secondary Schools.

This alternative provision educational package will be offered primarily to Stevenage Secondary Schools, but will be offered to schools outside of the Stevenage area, if places are available.

Vocational Programme at SESC on a Wednesday

Students will be provided with a therapeutic approach in all lessons where mentoring and a nurturing learning environment is consistent. SESC staff have experience in working with students that have social, emotional and behavioral difficulties, using strategies to achieve the best outcomes for every student.

Students will be taught in small groups of no more than five students with a teacher and teaching assistant. Each lesson duration is 50 minutes, thus 1 block being 100 minutes of teaching and learning.

The options for this are:

  • Home Cooking (Level 1 & 2)
  • Award in Sport ( Level 1 & 2)
  • Construction (Level 1 & 2)
  • Hair and Beauty (Level 1 & 2)
  • Art and Ceramics
